Breaking News: Bihar’s JP Ganga Path Bridge Cracks 72 Hours After Inauguration | ABP NEWS
Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar inaugurated the fourth phase of the JP Ganga Path in Patna on Thursday, stating that the new phase would reduce the distance between Digha and Didarganj. However, just 72 hours after the inauguration, a major issue has emerged. Cracks have appeared on the newly constructed bridge, which cost a whopping ₹3,831 crore to build. The cracks were hastily filled in an attempt to cover up the lapses, raising questions about the quality of construction and the efficiency of the Bihar Public Works Department. The inauguration took place on April 10, when the 20.5-kilometer-long bridge was hailed as a significant infrastructure development, connecting two important parts of Patna. Yet, only three days later, cracks were noticed in the structure, a clear sign of poor construction. This has led to concerns about the state’s ability to maintain quality in its large-scale projects. The situation has sparked a broader debate about the state of bridges and infrastructure in Bihar, with critics questioning the integrity of projects funded by taxpayers’ money. Despite attempts to cover up the issue, the incident raises serious doubts about the standards of construction and maintenance in the state.
